Now after sharing her previous offering "
Cinco" back in late March, Ofelia K. is back today to share with us her striking new single called "Bad Boys", which she herself says is about "
the complexity of toxic relationships and the heartbreak and struggle we endure in silence.". "Bad Boys" also serves as the second single to be lifted from her forthcoming sophomore EP, which was produced by
Andy Rosen (Meg Myers) and mixed by
Joe Visciano (Adele, Troye Sivan and Elle King).
Speaking about the track, Ofelia K. goes on to explain:
"
Everyone has had toxic relationships in their lives, I'm not just talking about romantic ones. The kind of relationships that aren't healthy or righteous, but somehow we slip into them and have a hard time getting ourselves out. To me this song is about suffering in silence while putting on a facade. I love having quirky and fun elements in my music, but this song is very hopeless and it didn’t call for those things. For this one, we focused on elements of beauty and creating the right world for the lyrics to live in. The song itself has always felt cinematic to me and the production supports that."
